Employment
If you have an interest in working with and helping children with intellectual disabilities, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, then this is the job for you!
This is an hourly position working one-on-one with young children diagnosed with ASD in a supportive center based setting. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day teaching and implementation of client’s goals based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior. Under the supervision and guidance of a BCBA, you will be trained on teaching life skills, communication, as well as behavior reduction using compassionate care and data-driven interventions.
We require all employees to obtain the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within one month of hire. ABAS provides assistance and access to the 40 hour training and completion of a competency assessment.
SUPERVISION
We provide free candidate supervision to employees of ABAS looking to obtain the required hours of supervision as part of the BACB requirements. Supervision that is provided is ethical, supportive, systematic and data driven.
Supervision includes an initial assessment of familiarity, understanding and the ability to apply concepts and principles from the BACB task list.
Development of supervision is based on each student’s assessment and areas of interest. ABAS has developed a curriculum that we believe provides BCBA candidates with valuable experiences and opportunities.
Quarterly assessments are completed on the candidate and monthly progress of hours is monitored to make sure the candidate is making progress and gaining the experience to become a well-rounded future BCBA.
